Our Halloween Party Pack

2021-10-29

Halloween facts, fun, and food: This is all you need to have a perfect Halloween party. Keep reading!

WoooOOOooo-elcome to our Halloween blog post!

Somehow it’s that time of year again already - what’s really scary is how quickly Halloween seems to have come back around! But it’s here now and we’re set on helping you make the most of it with our collection of Halloween facts, food and fun!

Facts: Where did it all begin?

Halloween is a holiday observed each and every year on the 31st October...but how far back do these celebrations go? The answer is approximately two thousand years, with the tradition starting off with a Celtic festival called Samhain. During this festival of Samhain, the ancient Celts would light bonfires and dress up in scary costumes to ward off ghosts. See the similarities?

Then, hundreds of years later, a Pope by the name of Gregory III would designate a single day to remember and honour all saints. This day, All Saints Day, landed on 1st November and so quickly began to incorporate some of the traditions of Samhain. Over time, the evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, eventually becoming the Halloween we know today.

Food: Making your Halloween menu

If you’re looking for delicious recipes with a Halloween twist then we’ve got some fantastic ways for you to make your meals spooky and spectacular - and still taste great!

Fish with tomato Salsa

Sounds quite normal? Well it is, but part of throwing a Halloween party is the presentation! What if this delicious dish was instead described to your guests as a bowl of brains or mashed up monsters! See the recipe here

Almond Cookies

No cookie cutter cookies here! We’re looking for a taste and shape that truly breaks the mould. And just because we’re looking for novel Halloween themes it doesn’t mean we need to compromise on flavour, right? So here’s our fan-favourite recipe for almond cookies that will be the perfect base for halloween shapes and decorations. See the recipe here
